The Supported Employment is a five-step method originated in the USA in the 1970s but is now spread all over the world. The basic idea is that all people have resources and can work if the right support and conditions are given.
The SE method is evidence-based and has proven to be the most effective method in supporting individuals to reach employment, compared to other techniques within vocational rehabilitation and employment services.
Supported Employment consist of work in areas such as jobcoaching, interviewing, follow-up, jobmatching, accommodation, introduction and so forth.
Supported Training™ method was developed during 2009 by CE Solutions AB, and is inspired by the core principles of Supported Employment. The main focus in Supported Training™ is to support and develop the participant’s personal skills and competence in order to find and develop progression. The method is designed to offer work-oriented rehabilitation at an earlier stage than Supported Employment.

On March 26–27, 2025, Sumeto took part in the SFSE Conference in Gothenburg, organized by the Swedish Association for Supported Employment. During the event, our founder, Annika Malm, was honored with the SE Initiative of the Year award.
On November 19–20 we exhibited at the BASE Conference in Manchester. Attendees showed strong interest in SUMETO Employment, recognizing it as a comprehensive solution to boost quality control and operational efficiency for organizations offering Supported Employment and related services.
From June 5–7 we joined the 15th European Supported Employment Conference in Tarragona, Spain. We were honored to unveil SUMETO Employment—our innovative digital platform for quality assurance and greater efficiency in Supported Employment. Our workshop, “Towards the Future of Supported Employment with SUMETO,” was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback and sparked lively discussions on how digitalization can strengthen employment services.
